Turning Passion Into Action!
FIASGP Our Story — From Clergy-Led Mission to Community Pillar (2006–Present)
In 2006, Faith In Action of the San Gorgonio Pass was founded as a small, clergy-led effort to support neighbors in Banning and Beaumont facing hardship. The term ‘San Gorgonio Pass’ was deliberately chosen to clarify FIASGP as a distinct local organization that bears no affiliation to other groups using the ‘Faith In Action’ name. Rooted in community faith and local compassion, FIASGP was formalized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and has grown into a trusted anchor organization serving thousands of low-income, unhoused, veteran, and justice-involved residents across the San Gorgonio Pass region each year.
After the COVID pandemic, Carol Allbaugh, who was a volunteer at Carol’s Kitchen, saw the need to offer more resources to the homeless and low-income population. At the same time, Faith in Action was leaderless and Carol asked permission to take the lead of the organization to deliver these resources.
In 2021, the organization was reborn and structured to address the social determinants of health and promoting equity across the region.
Today, FIA serves as a trusted bridge between vulnerable residents and the systems designed to support them. Through programs in housing stability, workforce readiness, food access, and health equity, the organization provides wrap-around services that help individuals regain stability and independence.
FIA remains rooted in community trust and powered by the belief that faith in action can transform lives.
