Turning Passion Into Action!

FIASGP Our Story — From Clergy-Led Mission to Community Pillar (2006–Present)

In 2006, Faith In Action of the San Gorgonio Pass was founded as a small, clergy-led effort to support neighbors in Banning and Beaumont facing hardship. The term ‘San Gorgonio Pass’ was deliberately chosen to clarify FIASGP as a distinct local organization that bears no affiliation to other groups using the ‘Faith In Action’ name. Rooted in community faith and local compassion, FIASGP was formalized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and has grown into a trusted anchor organization serving thousands of low-income, unhoused, veteran, and justice-involved residents across the San Gorgonio Pass region each year.

After the COVID pandemic, Carol Allbaugh, who was a volunteer at Carol’s Kitchen, saw the need to offer more resources to the homeless and low-income population. At the same time, Faith in Action was leaderless and Carol asked permission to take the lead of the organization to deliver these resources.

In 2021, the organization was reborn and structured to address the social determinants of health and promoting equity across the region.

Today, FIA serves as a trusted bridge between vulnerable residents and the systems designed to support them. Through programs in housing stability, workforce readiness, food access, and health equity, the organization provides wrap-around services that help individuals regain stability and independence.

FIA remains rooted in community trust and powered by the belief that faith in action can transform lives.

Our Vision: Eliminating Poverty and Homelessness in the Inland Empire

The vision of Faith In Action (FIA) is to eliminate poverty and homelessness in the San Gorgonio Pass region so that everyone has the opportunity to be self-sufficient and thrive.

Our Mission: Turning Passion Into Action for the San Gorgonio Pass

How We Serve: Community, Trust and Equity

Faith In Action’s (FIA) mission is to help low-income, at-risk, and unhoused individuals to obtain and retain resources to address their health, educational, housing, and workforce development needs. We do this through direct services, referrals, public education, and partnerships with the community organization.

At Faith in Action we strive to empower the local community through innovative support initiatives dedicated to meeting the short-term and long-term needs of others in the San Gorgonio Pass. We do this through:

  • Being Dedicated to Community Support and Development: We prioritize the needs and challenges of our local community.
  • Facilitating Access to Essential Resources: We help individuals access health, education, and housing resources.
  • Partnering with Local Organizations: We collaborate with local groups to enhance our impact.
  • Strategies for Ending Poverty: We implement strategies to combat and eradicate poverty effectively.
